Our Lord Jesus Christ, Universal King

It is the last Sunday before Advent begins. This is also the last Sunday of the Church year, the last week of ordinary time in the liturgical calendar. This solemnity reminds us that Jesus Christ is true king of earth and heaven.

All Souls' Day

The 2nd of November is All Souls' Day. This is when the Church remembers those who have gone before us - relatives, friends, neighbours. You can visit the graveyard all year through, but November is a special time for doing so. You can lighten a candle at a grave and say a prayer for someone you knew or for all who are lying at the graveyard.

Prayers for All Souls Day

Eternal Rest grant unto them,
O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May they rest in peace.

My God,
bestow Thy blessings and Thy mercies
on all persons
and on those souls in Purgatory
for whom I am in charity, gratitude, or friendship bound
and have the desire to pray. Amen

All Saints' Day - Activity Sheets & Video

The day after Halloween - which means All Saints' Eve - the Church celebrates All Saints' Day on the 1st of November. It is the day we remember and honour all the saints of the holy Catholic Church.

The saints are our very best friends in heaven! We can call upon their help throughout the year.

Here are some activity sheets we are using today:
