Salt Dough HeartsIn the last days we have made hearts (among other things) out of salt dough. See the instructions below.
Salt Dough Recipe1 cup salt
2-3 cups of flour
1 cup of water
Mix together and kneed into a smoth dough.
We used a biscuit heart shape and poked the holes with a chop-stick. We dried the salt dough figures in the oven for about two hours at 90 C.
When they were cool and completely dry, we varnished them with an all purpose varnish and let them dry over night.
We pulled a thick black string through the hole to wear round the neck or hang up on the wall.
